Flutist Rachel Beetz presents an exploration the sounds of the dryness in our community while also remembering water. Along with sands, grains, and fire of drought in works by Natacha Diels, Kaija Saariaho, and a world premiere by Michael Pisaro, water, shells, and drops in works by John Cage and Peter Ablinger transform our instruments into the Californian landscape, ending in their absence in a presentation of Peter Ablinger's California Score, for 24 sheets of paper and objects.
