The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library
1008 Wall St, La Jolla, CA

The 2015 soundON Festival of Modern Music showcases the vibrant, exploratory edge of modern music’s past and present performed by San Diego New Music’s own ensemble-in- residence, NOISE. This year’s festival features emerging voices of the contemporary music scene with world premieres by NOISE violinist Mark Menzies and soundON favorites, Juan Campoverde Q. and Sidney Marquez Boquiren, and three works by our featured guest, celebrated composer of British new complexity James Erber, who will be in attendance at the festival. We also celebrate modern masters, including Elliott Carter, the 90th birthday of Pierre Boulez, and cross-section of Southern California composers including Chinary Ung, Christopher Adler, Nathan Hubbard and Rand Steiger.

soundON is underwritten by generous donations from Garna Muller, the Fox Family Charitable Trust, Ann Craig and the Ellen Browning Scripps Foundation with the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library
